Hope you are well.
Tennis is a situational game, so it is hard to have a unique way to approach scenarios.
When you are coming to the net, and the ball is wide- then it is better to push off the outside leg. On the other hand, if the ball is closer or hit directly at you, it is more efficient to lead with the front foot.
I contemplate that it is beneficial to practice both patterns. The footwork in the doubles court is different than singles, so you got to keep that in mind.
One of the keys in doubles is learning how to move without the ball.
